a Mano

Last night me and two of my friends had dinner @ a Mano Italian Restaurant.

The ANTIPASTI was Caponata bruschetta, eggplant, tomatoes, capers, raisins, pine nuts

The Pasta choice was Gnudi ricotta dumplings, shiitakes, brown butter, sage & Buccatini all’ Amatriciana house-cured guanciale, tomato, pecorino, chili ( the table favorite) and for our SECONDI was the Pesce del Giorno daily seafood preparation Mkt (grilled swordfish) and Tagliata di Manzo grilled hanger steak, arugula, balsamic, grana. Finally ending with

Torta di Giandiua Flourless chocolate & hazelnut torte with olive oil & sea salt!   Finally ending with some house made limoncello! SALUTE!
Over all, pretty good Italian; happy girls.

CUPCAKES

Petite Cupcakes & Events and Hey Cupcake!

Irene's Cuisine

So as my friends already know Irene's  is one of my favorite places to go in New Orleans.    I can't say enough positive things about Irene's; the food is great and the wait staff and maitre d' are always stellar. The only thing I'd have to complain about is parking and the wait can be long BUT worth the wait. Thankfully I'm considered a regular and I get treated well! Either way I always return.

My favorite dish is the Lamb a' la Provence, Duck St.Phillip, Soft shell crab,

and for dessert the cheese cake!

Yummmmm

Hudson Station Bar and Grill

So, it was my last day/night in NY and the day was spent watching the Giants lose to the  Cincinnati  Bengals (yikes) along with the Saints having an awesome win against the Dirty Birds AKA Atl Falcons: Who Dat!

The day was spent drinking Bloody Marys,  blk & tans along with eating a cuban sandwich at Hudson Station Bar and Grill in Hells Kitchen.

The night was ended with dinner at Lasagna Chelsea Restaurant, New York.
I had the pleasure of eating the Spinach Fettuccine and since I'm a fatty I ordered the pumpkin ravioli "to go"
Yes, I am having a pumpkin ravioli addiction at the moment. I will try and make some
home-made but who knows how that will come out.
Dessert was x3 with cheese cake, tiramisu and a chocolate cake.
Needless to say, I went to bed FULL

Becco

This weekend I decided to jet set to New York and what's else is there to do but eat drink and shop in my world. Most of all eat and drink. He-He
Lets start with a bottle of Adriatico Ribolla 2010, Bastianich, CHEERS!
To get a taste of fresh pasta I ordered Chef William Gallagher’s THREE DAILY PASTA PREPARATIONS,  spaghetti, pesto rigatoni, and pumpkin ravioli ( my favorite of the night)
Pesce Spada for dinner (Grilled swordfish with spaghetti squash, stewed cherry tomatoes, toasted pumpkin seeds & pumpkin seed oil)  can you say yummmmm
Zuppa di Pesce Misto (Sautéed day-boat seafood in “lobster brodo” served on a bed of soft white polenta) was also on the table.

This is my first visit to Becco in New York, NY and it will not be my last.
